How We Raise Our Goldendoodle Puppies
Our puppies are raised in our homes in Montgomery and Beaumont, Texas. Beginning at just three days old, we introduce age-appropriate developmental experiences designed to build confidence and prepare puppies for life with their future families.
Our puppy curriculum includes:

Our puppies are raised in our homes in Montgomery and Beaumont, Texas. While we are not physically located in Austin, many families are willing to travel for the breeding program and puppy-raising experience that best fits what they're looking for.
From your first Zoom consultation through puppy selection and go-home day, we'll help you understand what to expect and prepare for bringing your new puppy home.
Our Selection Process
As part of our breeding program, complete temperament evaluations when the puppies are 7 weeks old.Ā This is to help guide you in suggesting which Goldendoodle puppies would be considered to have the best odds of meshing with your familyās activity level, desires, and needs. While the overall temperament of doodles is lovely, this helps you have more insight into selecting your future family member, whether your perfect puppy is going to be a family companion, therapy dogs, emotional support or service dog.Ā Ā All of our Goldendoodle breeding pairs are genetically clear and health tested. Dacus Doodles has two Texas locations in Montgomery and Beaumont. Our Montgomery location is approximately a 2Ā½-hour drive from Austin, depending on traffic and your starting point. Beaumont is farther from Austin, at approximately 4 hours. Your puppy's pickup location depends on where that particular litter is raised, and families know the location from the beginning so they can plan ahead.

Yes. We offer Zoom and in person consultations so prospective families can meet us, learn more about Dacus Doodles, ask questions, and determine whether our breeding program is the right fit for their family.
At around 7 weeks of age, our puppies complete professional temperament evaluations. Pet families receive "Love Letters" from our evaluator describing each puppy's personality and temperament traits. Families then choose their puppy in reservation order, using those insights to help determine which puppy may best fit their home and lifestyle.
Service dog prospects follow a different process. Our professional evaluator and the future handler's trainer work together to select the puppy best suited for the handler's individual needs.
